The Board

Halima Buba

Halima is currently the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of SunTrust Bank Nigeria Limited. She has over 22 years cognate experience in the banking sector. Aside her numerous achievements as director and board member of reputable institutions, Halima co-founded Taj Consartium, an organization of young dynamic technocrats and financial advisory experts. She’s unapologetically a champion of young and women empowerment and has contributed immensely to the Girl Child Education.

Dr Salamatu Mambula

Dr. Salamatu Mambula is a faculty member at the Harvard Medical School in the Department of Radiation Oncology where she conducted numerous research projects on prostrate cancer and heat shock protein that resulted in several publications in international journals

Solomon Yero

Solomon studied Physics at St Mary’s College, Twickenham and obtained an MSc in Radiation Protection from the University of Surrey, Guildford, England in 1984. He holds an MA in Missions Studies from Nairobi International Institute of Theology, Kenya. He is an alumnus of Haggai Institute, Maui, Hawaii, USA.

Sadiq Suleiman Abdullahi

Sadiq has a combined 17 years experience in both public and private sectors. A seasoned development manager, his core competencies cut across various fields that include but not limited to; Strategic Planning, Project Management, Investment/Transaction Advisory, Relationship Management, Value Chain Analysis/Management as well as Human Capital Development.

Adegbe Ehigbe Ogbeh LL.B

Adegbe Ogbeh has pioneered several digital platforms at the dawn of GSM communication services in West Africa and mobile applications before exiting to focus on the hospitality sector.He has acquired experience and particular expertise in brand creation and development. Adegbe has also acted in an advisory capacity to numerous startups and is an avid social investor.

Hyaliwa D. Goje

Hyaliwa D. Goje

Hyaliwa D. Goje is a serial entrepreneur, passionate about upscaling small businesses by teaching financial literacy and planning.

He is currently the Managing Director/CEO of Floreat Group of companies engaged in businesses ranging from Property & Financial Management and more recently, Agricultural Investment Consulting.

Dr. Anna Madziga

Dr. Anna Madziga has 25+ years of experience working as an advocate for girls’ education, women empowerment, gender mainstreaming, conflict management and peace building issues. She is an advocate for equity in education. For more than 20 years she has worked to improve education and gender equity in different parts of Nigeria and has designed and evaluated girls’ education programs in Katsina, Bauchi, Niger, Jigawa, Kano, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara states.

Asmau Durnin

Asmau Durnin

Programme Director

Asmau Durnin is an International development expert with a decade’s experience in Programme Management and Community Engagement. She is a Nigerian/British Dual National who has managed projects across various international development organisations including the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office for Development, Council for Assisting Refugee Academics, London and Economic Community for West African States, Nigeria.

During her time as Grants Coordinator for the Education Sector Support Programme in Nigeria, a UK Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office funded programme (FCDO) set up to support the improvement of primary school education delivery in selected Nigerian states, Asmau engaged with several Civil Society Organisations and local communities to support capacity building schemes to enhance teaching and learning at the community level. She also worked as Project Co-ordinator for the Facility for Oil Sector Transformation also funded by the FCDO where she supported the delivery of Programme goals towards curbing the loss of oil revenue in Nigeria.

Prior to this time, Asmau managed a large European Union grant at the Council for Assisting Refugee Academics who had fled to London from war torn countries to requalify via the British education system, and regain their careers in the UK.

Asmau is founder of Polished Arrows Development Initiative (PolAr)- for empowering NGOs and social innovators concerned with the Rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons in the North East of Nigeria.

Asmau holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Leeds UK , Master’s Degree in Globalisation and Development from Warwick University, UK, a certificate in Programme Management for Development Professionals Certificate (Project Dpro) and certificate in Business Management and Entrepreneurship.

Popoola Olusegun

Programme Officer

Popoola Olusegun is a dedicated, organised and hardworking individual who has over the years acquired relevant skills for his personal and organizational progress. He bagged a Bachelor of Education degree in English at Ekiti State University. He furthered at the University of Ibadan (U.I) for a Master of Arts degree in English Language in 2013.

At intervals, he taught at different institutions and also functioned as a public speaking class master for the students.  Popoola worked with Youth Economic and Entrepreneurship Initiative as an Outreach Manager. His basic secretarial skills were acquired at United for Development (UNDP) where he worked as a Data Entry Analyst.

Despite his organizational prowess, teaching has been his life-long responsibility and passion with the aim of helping coming generations. He’s currently working as Programme Officer at Mariam Ladi Yunusa Foundation, (MLY-F).

Emmanuel Agumdiya

Senior Outreach Manager

Emmanuel Agumdiya is a resourceful individual who possesses vast experience in organizing and supervising field works. He started gathering his wealth of experience at Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), FCT Abuja where he worked as an outreach manager.

The impact of his resourcefulness and dedication was greatly recognized at the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Adamawa State where he worked with the Head of Operations as his personal assistant. His ability to maneuver his way on the field and get project executed within given timelines secured him a Senior Outreach Manager Position at Mariam Ladi Yunusa Yunusa Foundation where he’s presently working at his full capacity.

Joshua Gamaraja

Outreach Manager, Yola

Joshua Gamaraja holds a Bachelor degree in Agriculture, (Hons. Agricultural Economics) from the University of Maiduguri, Borno State. Diploma in integrated science Education, Adamawa State Polytechnic. Work as a marketing officer, West African Cotton Company Limited, Agricultural Extension officer UNDP.

Currently working with Mariam Ladi Yunusa Foundation as an Outreach Manager in Yola where he spearheads the supervision and monitoring of executed projects and beneficiaries in the region.

Despite his organizational prowess, teaching has been his life-long responsibility and passion with the aim of helping coming generations. He’s currently working as Programme Officer at Mariam Ladi Yunusa Foundation, (MLY-F).

Abdulazeez Usman

Outreach Officer, Yola

Abdulazeez Usman holds a HND in Business Administration and Management from Federal Polytechnic Mubi, Adamawa state. Diploma in Business Management Education, Adamawa State Polytechnic and computer certificate at Silver Tech Computer Institute, Maiduguri Borno State.

Worked as Marketing Manager at Ifix global computers and CEO Blue Cyber X Computer Ventures. He’s presently a functional member and employee at Mariam Ladi Yunusa Foundation (MLY-F) as an outreach officer in Yola, Adamawa state.

Emmanuel Ijai

Outreach officer

Emmanuel Ijai holds a Diploma in Marketing, Purchasing and supply from Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri Borno State. He worked with the Danish Refugee Council (contract). He is a Livestock Officer with Madagali LGA.

Mohammed ABDUL-RAHMAN

Partnerships Manager (Diaspora)

Mohammed ABDUL-RAHMAN is a Nigerian scholar, academic and researcher at the Department of Building and Real Estate, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), Hong Kong, and the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, University of Lagos, Nigeria. His expertise and broad research interests include Urban Planning, Sustainable Development, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Community Resilience, Disaster Risk Reduction, Housing, and Project Management.

He has about 7 years of experience working and consulting for both the private and public sectors in Nigeria, Benin Republic, Kenya and Hong Kong, as well as working with international development organizations such as the United Nations.

Mohammed hails from Borno State, Nigeria. He is an alumnus of King’s College, Lagos, and the prestigious University of Lagos, where he obtained a BSc (First-Class Honours) and an MSc (Distinction), both in Urban and Regional Planning. He is a recipient of many academic awards and scholarships including The Femi Okunnu Trust Fund Scholarship for King’s College, the University of Lagos Vice Chancellor’s Scholars Award and Endowment Fund for 5 years consecutive years, the Federal Government of Nigeria’s National Undergraduate Scholarship Award for 4 consecutive years, the Research Institute for Sustainable Urban Development (RISUD) PhD International Scholarship in Hong Kong, the Chinese Research Institute of Construction Management (CRIOCM) 2019 Conference Best Paper Award, etc. Mohammed’s research was also published in The Hong Kong Report for Sustainable Built Environment 2020 as one of the key research projects making Hong Kong green and sustainable in the 21st century.

He serves as co-founder, director, and board member to many Nigerian companies including TMG Consult Ltd, AI Africa Lab Ltd, Ayanmo Agroallied Services Ltd and Artisan Development Company Ltd.

Mohammed enjoys spending his spare time mentoring young people, networking, reading, writing, traveling, hiking and gardening/farming.
